Our projects in Ghana
Ghana was the first country in Sub-Saharan Africa to achieve independence in 1957. The last two decades were marked by peaceful and democratic stability and a growing economy. Ghana’s multiethnic population of over 23 million has grown together as one nation. In 2009 Ghana was the first Sub-Saharan country to be paid a visit by US-president Barack Obama.
The first steps towards a prosperous future are done and Ghana’s people is thriving for more.
School attendance is compulsory for nine years and mostly free of charge. Over 90% of Ghanaian children attend school on a regular basis, however, only 30% continue with a secondary education (WHO 2006). This is where we take action to support children. We endorse the access to a qualified education and a self-determined life for every child as a chance for a brighter future. We are of the opinion that development must not stop after the basics.
This is where our projects kick in…
