Kids` Corner

Our Children in Ghana is our partner. In a concerted effort we created and continuously operate an afternoon facility, the Kids` Corner. Here we encourage creativity and intellectual independence of children and adolescents in a leisurely atmosphere, far away from everydays’ school life. We offer drawing, writing and sportive activities and theatre projects which were already attended by more than 3000 kids in the district of Hohoe.

In cooperation with the University of Münster we organised workcamps in 2008 and 2009 which were attended by both, Ghanaian and German students. Together with the community of Santrokofi Bume a sports- and a playground were erected, and in 2009 an annex to the existing Kids` Corner building was constructed to accommodate a library and computer school. Both facilities were opened in a large inauguration party with attendees from all over Ghana. Now, children in Santrokofi Bume can borrow books and attend classes in the computer school. Our Children supports the project through active participation in Ghana and PR initiatives. The cooperation between Our Children Ghana and Our Children e.V. covers the following areas:

Through our commitment we advocate the access to a qualified education and a self-determined life for every child. In the future these children will contribute to a righteous civil society.
