The idea for Our Children was born when we first met during an internship in Ruanda. By then, each of us had made experiences in several projects and NGOs. What connected us right from the start was the irritation about unnecessary inefficiency in some organisations: badly implemented plans, lacking presence at the project places abroad and a consequent lack of insight on the true nature of problems and difficulties. What left us with a nasty taste in the mouth was the recurring misappropriation of funds or their assignment without proper focus. This left us with only one option: we were determined to become active and to pre-emptively exclude all these things from our organisation.
