Volunteers
We are always looking for volunteers who are willing to join the team in our projects for at least two months. You will work with children at school, and be part of their free time activities. Getting to know other cultures and gaining knowledge beyond school education enhances their opportunities in life.
Why does Our Children need your support?
- A profound knowledge of the English language is necessary for the students in order find a job after school. By passing on your knowledge you can help improving the kids' language abilities.
- Spending time with people from foreign countries broadens the children's horizon and understanding of different cultures while the Ghanian staff will impart knowledge concerning local matters and Ghanian values.
- We need your support in the Volta region while we make it possible for you to meet Ghanian people, experience the local culture and visit interesting places.
Which qualifications are required to become a volunteer?
- You have to be at least 18 years old.
- You should be able to take the responsibility for project matters. This requires self-confidence and mental stability.
- Good knowledge of the English language.
- It is useful to have dealt with educational concerns previously, and to be familiar with the history, geographical and socio-economic backgrounds of Ghana. It will be to your advantage to have experience in working with children.
- We do not collect agency fees; nonetheless you have to cover all costs of your stay by yourself. We are not able to pay salaries for volunteers.

Expense allowance
Dear volunteers,
We appreciate the increasing number of people supporting us as volunteers. Liz Busch and her team prepare your stay in Ghana buying different supplies (mattresses, chairs, furniture etc.) and have expenses for picking you up at the airport and other transportations. This money is urgently needed for our project. That is why we decided to impose an expense allowance of 100 Euros. The money will only be taken for the matters mentioned before.
We know that it is not easy to cover all the costs of your stay by yourself. Since you need this money for a good cause, we suggest collecting in your family. Previous volunteers organised little events like parties or participated in flea markets to raise money. The amount of the fee does not depend on the duration of your stay, since the costs are the same no matter how long you stay with us in Ghana.
We rely on your understanding and would like to emphasise again that the fee is not an agency fee which is charged by other organisations. The money covers the expenses of our team in Ghana organising your stay only.
